The ConceptThe New 80-Over Format

Middle-Form Cricket

The perfect bridge. Not as long as five days, not as fleeting as 20 overs. Strategic depth meets high energy in a single day.

Two Innings per Side

Teams bat and bowl two innings of 20 overs each (80 overs total). Scores accumulate. The classic 'Follow-on' returns.

Draw Condition

For a Draw outcome, the team batting second must retain at least 5 wickets till the last ball. Ties go to a Super Session.

Gen-Z Focused

Designed exclusively for players aged 13 to 19. A global pipeline giving young cricketers a stage to be seen.

TacticsRefined Rule Adjustments

Rule Detail & Tactical Implication
Rule 1: Powerplay One Powerplay of 4 consecutive overs per team, usable in either the 1st or 2nd innings. If not declared by the end of the 7th over of the second innings, it is automatically enforced in overs 7–10. Forces discipline and tactical risk-taking.
Rule 2: Follow-On May be enforced if the team batting second trails by 75 or more runs after both sides complete their first innings. Encourages tactical dominance and high-pressure play.
Rule 3: Early Collapse If a batting team is bowled out before 10 overs in their first innings, 3 remaining unused overs are added to the opponent's first innings (opponent plays 23 overs). Adds high stakes right from the start.
Rule 4: Bowling Allocation Maximum of five bowlers per match. Each bowler may bowl a maximum of 8 overs across both innings combined, with captains having flexibility on the split. Adds a new tactical storyline for resource management.
Rule 5: Cumulative Penalty If a bowler delivers three or more no-balls or wides within a single over, the batting side is awarded an additional 3 penalty runs (Discipline Penalty). Promotes sharper execution under pressure.
Rule 6: Conditional Draw In the final innings: As long as fewer than 5 wickets are lost, the Draw remains an option. Once the 5th wicket falls, the option of a Draw is removed; the match must result in a Win or Loss. Honours Test tradition while maintaining late-game excitement.
